The Road to BC

When you are ready to start your exploration of Balrog Cuttings and discover the many sights of this deceptively quiet-looking village, please head north and follow the Long and Winding Road.

along the Road to Balrog Cuttings The first building you will see is the Nomin Isen Music Hall on your right; the Hall, established long ago by Karlingalas, is a fine example of the best Modern Elvish architecture has to offer.

Later during your stay in Balrog Cuttings you may wish to experience one of the many outstanding performances that take place in the Hall; for instance, the Carmina Burana by the East Valinor Choir and Orchestra, or perhaps Porgy and Bess with the excellent Miss Jessye Brandybuck as Bess.

Behind the Music Hall on the other side of the River Brandywine you can see the Hills of Scary and the Nameless River flowing from Lake Eerie. There are organised tours to the Hills; talk to Morwen once you reach the village.

Amon Nazgul First, though, you'd better keep walking; it is still several miles to the village. As you walk along the Road towards Iant Iaur, you see the hill of Amon Nazgul dominating the otherwise flat plains on the left. This dark tower is the dwelling of She of Many Names, the Belly Dancing Nazgul, Witch Pearl of the East, Jereeza, who is also Hashberry. You feel strangely relieved that the Road doesn't come too near the sheer sides of the Hill, although this means you miss the opportunity to admire the Nazgul's splendid art collection and her extensive library.
