The Great Road - back to the village

Just before the edge of Alatar Forest the road forks. You can now go north to Paganini's Watchtower and the Last Ford; this is currently the northern border of Balrog Cuttings. Should you decide to head this way, why not drop in at the Headless Dragon Inn? This is where the Green Dragon Society has a secret back room, which would be used for meetings, except the GDS does not hold meetings. The members of the Society can still sometimes be found there, though (usually holding a pint of cider).
The road to the Tower leads through a pleasant land, with lightly forested hills to the North and East and a wide open plain in the other directions. The low hills in the East eventually become the Hills of Scary.
The road bends west beyond the Last Ford, and continues on to Eru knows where... A narrow path leads off into the southwest, through the Meadow of Pig-faced Flowers and over Mt. Elladan and Mt. Elrohir, our very own Twin Peaks.
According to Banazir the Jedi Hobbit, if you follow this road, you'll eventually find the Comfort Zone.

The other road from Alatar Forest will take you back to the village itself, to Minas Morwen and Castle Hill.

Minas Morwen The first building you see as you approach Castle Hill is Minas Morwen. Strategically located at the top of the hill, the tower commands a fine view of Balrog Cuttings and surrounding areas. The rumours that you can see Tol Eressëa from there in clear weather are apparently not true, nor is the suggestion that the top floor houses an advanced anti-Eagle air defense system based on truth.

A brook flows from the top of the hill past a crumbling, but scenic ruin (this was once MOM's cottage) to the tents, where it creates a rather swampy area, which is sometimes used by Dragons looking for a mudbath. From the ruin you can cut back to the White Horse by following the Main Course.

As you walk down the path towards the tents, you have reached the end of your tour of the village. However, there is much more to see, so head back to the White Horse for another lutefizz and read about the rest of the sights ...
